Read 1 Thessalonians 2:17-20. What is Paul saying here that's so relevant to us today?

Paul is alerting the Thessalonians to the fact that as Christians we have have a real enemy.Because we have a real Enemy we will have difficulties here on this earth. The hope for Christians is the second coming of Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ comes He will establish His kingdom here on this earth and change the whole order of things. We may experience suffering and sickness now but there is a better time coming. We must hold on to the promises of Jesus Christ and live faithfully toward this end.

How should all that we do in this life impact, to one degree or another, the salvation of the lost? However nice it is to talk about this ideal, how do we live in accordance with this objective?

There must be some works to back up our faith. The only way to live in accordance to this is to just do it. There is nothing that needs to be discussed or thought about we just need to do it. Of course God is there to help us and to give us strength along the way. We must understand that God want’s us saved more than we want ourselves to be saved. We must develop and evangelistic mind set and it must pervade everything that we do.

Prayer: Father please help us to keep in mind your second coming, and to bring as many people to heaven with us. Thank you in Jesus name amen.
