Here we see the religious leaders making a choice to let Jesus be killed in order for them to keep their power in the Roman government.This looks like a decision that is more political than , principled or even spiritual.

How does the current political situation in your community affect the work of the church? What kinds of things can, or should, your church do to improve its place and standing in the larger community?

We must become aware of what is going on in our communities. When we become aware of what is going on in our communities it gives us an opportunity to know where we can help.
