Here we see how Barnabas and Paul were called to ministry. The Holy Spirit revealed the ministry of Paul and Barnabas and they were set apart for this work. I would also note that there was prayer and fasting involved in this revelation. Here we see the importance of knowing what ministry you are called to. Being in the place where God has called you is best for you and best for His work. What do the following texts reveal about the Spirit's interaction with us? John 16:8, 13; Acts 13:4; Rom. 8:11; Acts 1:8 In these passages we see that the Spirit is closely involved with us in ministry. The Spirit convicts us of wrong and right. The spirit leads us into ministry and empowers us for ministry. The Spirit is our Helper to fulfill the ministry that God has called us to. God has given us everything to need to be successful when he gave us His Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a most precious gift. Prayer: Father thank you for your Spirit. Help us to understand where you have called us for ministry and please empower us. Thank you in Jesus name Amen. |
