This passage brings up an important truth about evangelism , the one who sows has equal reason to rejoice as the one who reaps. In this passage we see that Jesus sowed to the Samaritan women she sowed to her town and Jesus reaped from her labors. Somethings unless there is reaping an evangelistic effort may be seen as ineffective , but all evangelism at whatever stage is good. Whether we have the privilege to reap form our labor or not the beauty is that someone will and we can rejoice together. Consider 2 Peter 3:9. Why is God so keen for laborers to go out into the harvest? God ultimately wants souls saved in His Kingdom. God extends His mercy to everyone so that the may have an opportunity to be saved. God has not forgotten us on this planet, He is giving someone the opportunity to turn their lives over to him. Just as He has said things will happen in the scriptures they will. God’s promises are very true. Think over the past few days. How many chances did you have to witness for your faith, to plant a few seeds that could one day reap a harvest? How many of those times did you do it? How many opportunities did you pass up? Prayer: Lord God Almighty, Help us to plant seeds wherever we go. Thank you for the awesome privilege to labor with you. Thank you in Jesus name amen. |
