How is this idea revealed in the following verses? Jer. 1:14–19. In this passage we can see how the Prophets as Historians would deliver a message to the people of God. In this message Jeremiah deliverers a message for God and recounts their history with God. The prophet helps the people remember where they have fallen from God and helps them to get back where they need to be. How do Isaiah and Nahum testify to this similar point? Isa. 14:24–27, Nah. 1:5–10. In both of these passages we see where God is pronouncing Judgments on His people and we can see the prophets as historians. These two prophets are trying to point the people back to God. Many scientists declare that the world began by accident and that it will end that way, as well. Hence, there's not much meaning to all that comes in between (how could there be?). Why, deep down, do you know that this view can't be right? We see the involvement of a creator all throughout His creation and through history. God has given us plenty of evidence of His existence it is up to us to accept the evidence. Prayer: Father we thank you that you are involved in human history. Help us to trust you with our lives and to remember you always. In Jesus name amen. |
