Posted: 15 Nov 2011 06:03 PM PST Why did Christ have to take our humanity in order to redeem us? John 1:14; Gal. 4:4, 5; Rom. 8:3, 4; 2 Cor. 5:21; Phil. 2:5–8; Heb. 2:14–18; 4:14, 15.
Jesus wanted to live among us. From His lofty majesty in heaven there was not the intense solidarity with humanity that He experience here on this earth. Jesus becoming a man was just as much for us as it was for the rest of the universe. From the beginning of the creation story we see that man was created perfect. When the creation story continues we see that man has fallen. When man falls he loses his noble powers and becomes subject to his flesh. When Jesus comes He has to live a perfect life within the context of fallen humanity. When Jesus takes upon himself flesh and blood and lives a perfect life He condemns sin in the flesh. Because of the sacrifice of Christ was are able to experience the righteousness of Christ. Prayer: Father thank you for the sacrifice of Christ. Father please grant us the revelation of your son. Thank you in Jesus name amen. |
