Keeping Galatians 3:25 in mind, read Galatians 3:26. How does this text help us understand what our relationship to the law is, now that we have been redeemed by Jesus?
The law was simply a means to an end. The law has the purpose of directing us to Christ, the Law lets us know that we need to be saved. Because Christ has come this does not negate the law or the law giver, it just lets us know that are no longer under that law. This simply means we are not under the condemnation of the law because Jesus has received in his flesh the condemnation required by the law. Because of this new reality we can experience in Christ we do not live in relation to the law but we live in relation to Christ who has kept the law perfectly.
What is it about baptism that makes it such a significant event? Gal. 3:27, 28; Rom. 6:1–11; 1 Pet. 3:21.
Our baptism is a inauguration into a new existence. When we are baptized we put on Christ. Through baptism we are justified and we receive the righteousness of Jesus Christ. When we are baptized we also become apart of the the body of Christ. When we are baptized, we are being born again. This the the most significant decision that anyone will make in their entire live. While it is a beautiful thing it is your choice that God will not force you to do.
Dwell on this thought that what is true of Christ is also true of us. How should this amazing truth affect every aspect of our existence?
