Read 1 Corinthians 1:10–13. What does this passage tell us about how important Paul believed unity in the church was?

In the Corinthian church factions began to develop around leaders. Paul is letting the people know that there should not be these type of schisms in the church of God.

What are some issues that threaten the unity of the church today? More important, after we define them, how do we deal with them? What issues are more important than unity itself?

One of the things that threatens the unity of the church today is worship style. How to exactly deal with this issue is the subject of much debate. I would say we must seek the Lord in prayer, and study the scriptures to find what God requires of us.

Prayer: Father as we face challenges in the church and in society grant us wisdom to know what we can change and wisdom to know what we can not change, in Jesus name amen.
