Read 1 Samuel 16:7, Matthew 7:1, and 1 Corinthians 4:5. What is the message of these texts in regard to why we must be careful in how we view the spiritual experience of other people? What mistakes have you made in your judgments about others, and what have you l earned from those mistakes?

Because we are humans we have a limitation in what we can know or understand about people. We even have a difficult time understanding ourselves let alone another person (Jer 17:9) We can never accurately understand a person based upon our limited understanding. In the case with the slection of the next King of Israel we see that God does not look at the outward but He looks at the heart. It is easy to pass judgement on others because we can only go by what we see with our eyes. We must ask God to help us to see people as He sees them. If you are ever in doubt to the destructive nature of passng judgememt just thing back to a time when it was done to you how did that make you feel? We must learn to develop relationships with people not with their diagnosis.

Prayer: Father help us not to pass judgment on people but to see them as you see them and to love them as you love them. Thank you in Jesus name amen.

I would like to people as God see’s them
