Sabbath School Lesson - A Man Said to the Universe |
Posted: 05 May 2010 03:45 PM PDT Read the poem above. What is the message there? How should we, as Adventist Christians, differ in our view of our place in the universe from the idea presented here? What is the main reason for that difference? The message of this poem appears to be that your existence does not make a difference in the grand scheme of things. It appears that he is saying that the universe is so big and we are so small that our significance is questionable. As Christians we understand that God is the creator of the heavens and the earth. This same creator thought we were so significant that He gave His greatest gift to us, His son. The great price which was paid for our redemption shows our significance in the universe. Look up the following texts. What hope and comfort, even amid fearful times, can you draw from these texts? Ps. 118:6; Prov. 3:5, 6; Luke 12:6, 7; Rom. 8:38, 39; Heb. 13:6; 2 Tim. 1:7; 1 John 4:18 The scriptures are laden with promises from God that assure us that we have no reason to be afraid. We must continue to look unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith even in difficult times. Sometimes we are so overwhelmed that we just have momentary amnesia but God never forgets us He never sleeps He never slumbers. Prayer: Father thank you so much that you though enough of us to send your son to die for us. Father please help us never to forget our significance in your eyes. Thank you in Jesus name amen. |
