Summary: The Christian religion was founded on a real historical Resurrection. But over the last 40-50 years, there has been a tendency to downplay the Resurrection itself as a myth, in favor of the spiritual lessons that can be learned from it. But in this verse, Paul reminds the Corinthians that the Resurrection of Jesus was a real historical event, and offers proof to go along with it!
Verse: “And that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.”
—1 Corinthians 15:5-8
