Sabbath School Lesson - Kind Words (Eph. 4:32)

Kind Words (Eph. 4:32)

Posted: 02 Feb 2010 07:35 AM PST

Read Proverbs 15:1–5 and Proverbs 25:11–15. What important principles about what you say and how you say it are revealed in these texts? As you read them, ask yourself about your use of words when talking to others. In what ways could you be kinder in your verbal communication with others

Proverbs 15:1–5

This passage talks about the way that we respond to people with our
words. With our words we have the ability to turn the course of a heated
disagreement or discussion or even diffuse an angry individual.

This passage wants to help us understand the importance of our words
when dealing with others.

Proverbs 25:11–15

From this text we see the power of words. Words spoken in the right
circumstances can bring comfort to the hearer. Also when someone
faithfully reproves a you these our gracious words to the one who
receives with humility.

On the other hand the passage also talks about boasting of ones
gifts falsely. The text says this is like clouds and wind with
no rain.

We must ask God to help us when dealing with people to be able
to use the right words at the right time. We must also ask God
to help us to use kind words , and loving words instead to
hurtful, and hateful words.

Prayer: Father I pray that you will put your words in our mouth, that you will touch out lips and purify our speech. Help us to speak and think well of others. Thank you in Jesus name I amen.
