Sabbath School Lesson - Peace With God

Peace With God

Posted: 17 Jan 2010 07:05 AM PST

Read Romans 5:1-11 and summarize what you believe the crucial points are here.

The first thing the we must understand is the the peace that we
receive is as a result of our faith. The object of this faith
is rooted and grounded in the receiving and accepting of the work of
Jesus Christ for us on the cross.

Without our faith in accepting what Christ has done there can be
no peace with God, and there can be no peace on this earth.

As the text says because of this love that has been poured upon our
hearts we can exult in our tribulations. Tribulations can be another
component that will seek to take away our peace. Accepting Jesus
gives us peace with God and peace on this earth.

This passage talks about how we had the opportunity to be recipients
of the grace of God while we were yet sinners. This speaks of the
the love of God towards us. Before we knew to accept God He was
preparing a way which we could be at peace with Him.

The peace that we have with God is established by the accepting the
atonement for our sins provided in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
We are guilty but by the precious blood of Jesus we receive reconciliation
   and peace with God.

Dwell on this idea that only because of what Jesus has done, because of His perfect life credited to you by faith, can you stand pardoned, forgiven, and accepted before God, regardless of your past. Why is this teaching so important to us if we are truly to know peace?

Another element to this equation is the fact that we have and enemy
who stands and accuses us before God. The accusations which he
gives seek also to disrupt our peace. Therefore if we somehow
do not believe or we do not receive the forgiveness we are rightfully
   accused

Without the peace of God we would be tormented from our mistakes and
sins from the past. Also this life is most fulfilling when we realize
that we are peace with God. There is an unsettledness in the individual
that has not been reconciled to God. Though they may not understand
what it is , the truth is only God can bring the true satisfaction in
   life that many seek for.

Prayer: Father thank you for what you have done in Jesus Christ,Thank you the precious blood that covers all of our sins. Bring us into communion with You through your Son. Thank you Father for Your peace, in Jesus name amen.
