Sabbath School Lesson - Love Is Multidimensional (Deut. 6:5) |
Love Is Multidimensional (Deut. 6:5) Posted: 03 Jan 2010 09:44 AM PST Read Matthew 7:12 and Matthew 22:39. What's the important point these texts make? How is this essential to the whole concept of love?       The second half of the commandments deal with the way that we should    treat each other. These commandments can be summarized by loving    our neighbors as ourselves and treating them how we want to be    treated. This helps us understand what it means to love and how    loving can be made practical. Your love is seen when you treat a    person as you would want to be treated.    It's easy to talk about loving others as yourself; what's not easy is doing it. How well do you do in this area? How can you learn the hard lessons of death to self in order to minister to the needs of others?       For anyone to say that they have this down perfectly would be    telling a lie. But I have learned that the more that we give    the more it starves the self that is within us. I believe that    God has developed giving in order to help us become more self    less. The more that you give the more God is a able to give    back to you. Prayer:Father thank you today for your love. Please help us to love our neighbors as ourselves and to be selfless just as You were selfless for us. Fill us with Your Spirit I pray. In Jesus name amen. |
