Why is that such an accurate term for Jesus?    When I think of words , words do no readily appear to have the    ability to give life or death. But the bible lets us know that    life and death are in the power of the tongue. Jesus is the    is the Word which brings life.    I believe that this phrase means that Jesus is the life giver.    Jesus' words has the power to give life and if we take heed to    His words we will have the life that He offers. Jesus is the    ultimate word what can be spoken and the ultimate world that    can be heard. What other evidence from those verses show that John was referring to Jesus when He used the phrase "Word of life"?    When John is talking about the "Word of life" He is explaining    and encounter with an individual. Because we see this type of    language John is using we know that the "Word of life" is not    something which is impersonal but someone who is personal.    The "Word of life" is something which can be experienced. If we accept that Jesus is the "word of life," what does that means for us? Look at each part of the phrase, word and life. How do the following texts help us better understand what this phrase means in and of itself, and more important, what it means to us personally? Gen. 1:14, Dan. 5:23, Matt. 8:8, John 1-4, Acts 17:28.    Jesus is the one who gives us life. As the passage in acts    says in Him we live and move and have our being. Jesus not    only sustains our life but he sustains the world. Not only    did He sustain the world but he created the world by His    word. Prayer: Father thank you for the "Word of life" thank you for the sustaining power of your word in our lives. Helps us to allow this word to be fully manifested in our lives. Thank you , in Jesus name I pray amen. |
