Posted: 11 Jun 2009 07:13 AM PDT What should characterize our waiting for the second coming of Christ? Matt. 24:42-46. What do these verses mean for us in the practical sense of how we live?    Matt. 24:42-46.       When we look at this passage we must understand that we as God's    servants have been entrusted with his household. We have been    entrusted with the management of God's church. We also have been    entrusted with gifts and talents which are to be used for the    growth of His kingdom.    According to this passage it is important that we faithfully    execute out duties every day. We do not know exactly the day    nor the hour of our Lords return therefore we must always be    prepared for His return. Our lives must not be spent being    idle but in labor for the master until he returns. If Jesus came back next week, what do you think He would say to you regarding what you have done in the past week with the things He entrusted to you?    This is a very good question ,and also very sobering. I am not sure    exactly. Often times I am more difficult on myself than necessary.    But I do have an idea that I have done my best in trying to be    faithful in what He has given me. But whatever faithfulness that    has come is a result of his mercy and grace. Prayer: Father thank you for the things that you have entrusted to use. Please help us to be more faithful and help us to be found laboring when you return. Bless us with wisdom to be able to know how to faithfully use all that you have entrusted in our care. Thank you in Jesus name I pray amen. |
