A Better Way to Live for Monday, September 14, 2009
Summary: Most of our ancestors sealed contracts with a handshake, and they would've rather gone to the poorhouse than break their word. Nowadays, we've become experts at getting out of agreements. The Bible tells us that God's promises are solid, and given that people look to us as followers of God, shouldn't we follow His example?
Verse: But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "Yes" be "Yes," and your "No," "No," lest you fall into judgment.
