Sabbath School Lesson - “His Righteousness”

“His Righteousness”

Read Romans 3:26, 27. What point is Paul making here?

In this passage we see that God is the Justifier and He also is the one who is Just. This takes the focus from anything that we do and acknowledges that God is the one who makes us just therefore we must receive righteousness from Him.

In order to receive the righteousness of God we must engage in a faith transaction. When we accept what Christ has done for us by faith we are given credit for the righteous life that Jesus lived. Though we have done so many wrong things when we accept Christ by faith it is as if have done no wrong.

Satan expected God to destroy the world after it sinned; instead, He sent Jesus to save it. What does that tell us about the character of God? How should our knowledge of His character impact how we live?

In 2 pet 3:9 the bible declares that "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." It is God's ultimate desire that all should be saved. When Jesus was on this earth He said it was His mission to seek and to save the lost. God has loved us with an everlasting love and with loving kindness He has drawn us.

God has an amazing love for us. When we realize what He has done for us in the sending of His son we should be thankful. As we contemplate the God who gave all for us we should want to in return give all for Him. As Jesus gave His life for us we should want to give our lives for Him. The love which was shown to us should transform us.

What will you do differently in the next 24 hours directly as a result of knowing what God is like?

Prayer: Father thank your for your righteousness. Help us to receive all that you offer for is in Jesus Christ by Faith. May your love transform us daily. Thank you in Jesus name amen.
