Sabbath School Lesson - When Faith’s Muscles Atrophy

When Faith’s Muscles Atrophy

Read Ephesians 2:8 and Hebrews 11:6. How are these verses related? Most important, how do we maintain and build up the faith that we have been given as a gift?

Faith is a trust transaction , we must believe and trust that what God says
in His word is true and accurate. While we are to believe in faith we must
also develop this faith by trusting in God.

As we read the scriptures and we find the promises of God we must seek to
rest our faith on these promises. There is nothing that we can actually
grasp and touch to understand the realities of the scriptures except
we trust and exercise faith and see the results in our own lives.

Of course we see the results of faith in the lives and testimonies of
others but we must have our own personal faith story , and our on personal
faith walk. All this builds up our faith.

How often are you exercising the gift of faith? You might say that you believe and that you have faith, but how well do your actions show it? How can you learn to exercise your faith daily in small things so that when big things come, you will be able to reveal the faith that you profess?

In order to exercise faith in the small things we must learn to
realize the true nature of things. The true nature of things can
be seen in the combination of small things rather than the large
things. This is what life is primarily composed of , small things.

When this reality sets in our mind then we well begin to place more
emphasis on the small acts of our lives and begin to trust God in
with these things. When we do this the larger areas of faith will be
easier to handle.

Prayer: Father please teach us to trust you in the little things so that we may trust you in the larger things. Help us to build up our faith in you more day by day moment by moment. Thank you in Jesus name amen.
