Sabbath School Lesson - Choice and Chance

Choice and Chance

Read Psalm 87:5, 6. What is the message there for all of us regarding some of the circumstances that are not of our own choosing? How too should these verses help us better understand the meaning of Matthew 7:1, 2

Our God is a God of Justice and mercy, and as David says "He Know our
frame and remembers that we are dust" (Ps 103:14) God has an intimate
knowledge of us and our circumstances and judges us accordingly.

We serve a God who loves us with and everlasting love, who loves us
from and perfect knowledge of who we are. The problem is that as
humans we do not possess this type of knowledge about each other
yet we judge as if we did.

We must seek to see others as God see's them, we must not make snap
judgments because of our preconceived notions of people. We must
love as God's loves.

What are some of the things you have struggled with that are the result of choices that others, not you, have made? How has God worked in your life to negate some of the negative results of those choices? What better choices can you yourself make that could help in the healing process?

There are many children who grow up in families where there is only
a one parent. In these situations the child in not responsible
for the choices their parents made but they must live with the
consequences. What is this child to do? They must seek God for their
relationships and understand how to be a man or woman after God's
heart. Though they may have not had a good model of a happy family
they can be educated of God , to not repeat their parents mistakes.

Prayer: Father we thank you for the fact you can fix us. We sometimes are put in circumstances which we had no responsibility for. We don't look to this to make excuses but to ask your help in these situations. Father work in our lives perfectly and make us the reality of the vision that you have for us. Thank you in Jesus name amen.
