| Posted: 18 Nov 2009 12:55 AM PST In addition to their portion of the sacrificial offerings, what other plan did the Lord devise to care for both priests and Levites? Num. 18:21–32.       The Levites the priests did not have had an inheritance so they were given    a tithe in exchange for their service. In addition to this the Levites    were required to tithe on the tithe which would go to Aaron       At the end of this passage is a striking admonition "But ye shall    no profane the sacred gifts of the Sons of Israel" Lev (18:32)    As I reflect on this I wonder if by the way the Lords ministers and administrators    use the tithe can they also profane these sacred gifts? Read Numbers 18:32. What point should be taken away from that regarding the sacredness of their calling?       I believe that this is a call to be responsible to the way that    we handle the Lord's tithe. This call to responsibility goes    to ministers and it goes towards those who develop budgets    an programming supported by the tithe.       We must always keep before us the fact that the tithe is dedicated    to God and we must not profane it by misuse.    In this divine plan, everyone had their role, everyone had something to do. The priests and the Levites had their sacred duties to carry out regarding the service and ministry in the sanctuary, while the people had theirs in regard to the paying of a faithful tithe. The tithe was a small thing to give, considering what the Levites and priesthood performed in their behalf. In a sense, all the different groups were dependent upon the function of each other, and all were dependent upon the Lord.       Amen    Prayer: Father thank you for the tithing system. Please give us the courage and faith to tithe, give us the wisdom we need to use the tithe properly. Thank you Father in Jesus name amen. |
| Posted: 18 Nov 2009 12:39 AM PST Read Numbers 18:8–20. What points seem most pertinent to you?       When I look at the priests I am told that the portion of everything    which was dedicated to God was theirs. The would receive the the best    portion of all of the offerings dedicated to God.       Even thou they did not have an inheritance nor did they work God    provided for them. Also this showed that all God' people working    together can support the work of ministry.       Today there are those who have dedicated their lives to full time    ministry, and our current tithing system is what supports them    and it is what supports ministry to other countries.    What kind of sacred responsibilities do you hold? How faithful are you in the tasks that others are trusting you with? How could you do better in faithfully executing your responsibilities?       This is a very timely question. I am a man of many responsibilities.    I believe that best thing that I can do is be a good steward of    my time. If I am able to be responsible with my time then I am    able to meet my responsibilities       In order to be responsible you have to know how to respond to    the situations and challenges of life. Often times we believe that we    could do nothing when we don't meet our responsibilities and t    we make excuses for not fulfilling them.       But I believe that you can change the outcome of and event by    determining the way you respond to it. For me this is what being    responsible is all about.    Prayer: Father you have placed within our care many responsibilities please help us to execute each one with care exactness and thoroughness. May you be glorified by the work of our hands. In Jesus name Amen |
