Memorials

How was this terrible rebellion against Moses and Aaron memorialized? Num. 16:36–40. What especially was this memorial to remind them of?

The men that rebelled against God presented unauthorized censers before
Him. Because they presented these censers before God they became holy.
The censers were taken and beaten flat and used for a plating on
   the altar.

This plating would remain on the altar was a memorial that no
layman who is not a descendant of Aaron should come near to burn
   incense before the Lord.

What are some other memorials you can find in the Bible, and what are their purposes? See, for instance, Exod. 20:8–11, Num. 31:54, Matt. 26:13, Luke 22:19. In what ways were the animal sacrifices a kind of memorial?

   Exod. 20:8–11

This is the Sabbath which is a memorial of creation. Each time
that we worship on the Sabbath we acknowledge God as the
creator of the heavens and the earth.

   Num. 31:54

Here money was taken after a battle to remember the victory that
   they were granted.

   Matt. 26:13

Her Jesus speaks about the woman who anoints Jesus with and expensive
perfume an dries his feet with her hair. Jesus says that this
woman's act will be a remembered wherever the gospel is preached.

   Luke 22:19

Here we find the institution of the Lords supper. The Lords supper
was supposed to be a memorial of what He did for us on Calvary.
Each time we partake of the Lords supper we are reminded of
   Calvary.

What things about the Lord and His promises do you constantly need reminding of? Why is it important to keep those promises constantly before you?

Most of the things that we need reminding of are the things that
pertain to daily Christian life. We need to remember to seek first
the kingdom of God , and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Often it is easy to forget these simple truths that Jesus taught
but as we read and review them daily and practice them it helps
   us remember.

Another Good thing that helps is our testimony when we share our
testimonies it helps us to remember what God has done for us in
the past. What he has done for us in that past is evidence that
he can do the same in the present and in the future.

Prayer: Father help us not to rebel against you in any way shape of form. Help us to follow you in loving obedience. In our times of weakness bring to our remembrance your precious promises. Thank you in Jesus name amen.
