Num. 5:1-4.       The passage in consideration enumerates three types of people that    were to be put out of the encampment they are as follows.       1. Every leper.    2. Everyone having a discharge.    3. Everyone who is unclean because of a dead person. For what theological reason were these impaired persons removed for a time from the nation's encampment? Num. 5:3, last phrase. What spiritual message can we take away from this for ourselves?       The people who were impaired were taken out of their midsts so that    they would not defile their camp where God dwelled. Because God lived    there He could not allow anything that would defile them or His    sanctuary.       This speaks to the way that we treat our bodies, and also the things    that we engage ourselves in. We should remove any practice or    habit from our lives which would defile Gods sanctuary (our bodies)       What things are we watching, reading, eating, doing, or even thinking that make us feel as if we are exiled spiritually out of the camp? More important, what's the only solution to this problem? 1 John 1:8, 9       This is a very good question, Philippians 4:8 gives us the answer to    what our meditation should be. The things which are true, honorable,    right, pure, lovely, good repute, the excellent , worthy of praise we    are to dwell on these things.       When we are faced with sin in our lives which will defile the temple    of God we must cast it out. Mat 5:29,30 talks about if our eye or    hand offends us we must pluck it out. This speaks to that fact , cut    that thing out of your live that you might hinder your salvation.       No matter what you have done we have an advocate with the father Jesus    confess your sins, he will cleanse you.He will raise you up in the power    of forgiveness through His blood and you can live holy unto Him.    Prayer: Father we recognize that You are holy and that you dell in our body temples. I pray God that you will help us to remove anything from out lives which will defile your temple. Grant us strength to act up the knowledge you give us of these things. Thank you Father for your strength in Jesus name amen. |
