This passage lets us know that there is still a remnant in Israel who will be saved. God has not totally cast aside His chosen people but the opportunity for salvation is still extended to them. Salvation is just as much available to the Jew as it is to the Gentile. God does not desire that anyone should be lost , therefore He extends His grace to all. We must remember that it is Gods grace which enables us to receive His salvation. We did not desire even the opprotunity for salvation but Jesus made this possible.

As we have learned our choices have consequences. This passage in not saying that God purposely blinded the eyes of the Isrealites who rejected Christ but He let them experience the consequences of that choice. We must also remember that this is not talking about personal salvation.

What is so wrong with the idea that God has rejected en masse any group of people in terms of salvation? Why is that counter to the whole teaching of
the gospel, which at the core shows that Christ died to save all human beings? How, for example, in the case of the Jews, has this idea led to tragic results?

This would lead people to believe that if I am lost already then what is point of anything. I aso believe that this would cause a rift between the Christian and the Jew. It would also even call into question the character of God. We must seek Gods wisdom and ask for His help in these delicate matters.

Prayer : Father we thank you for your grace which you have extended to us. Help us to understand this from your scriptures. I pray that you use us all to daily offer your gift of salvation to all. Thank you in Jesus name amen.

As humans we have a natural tendency to remove God from what we do. When we become successful , we say I did this all on my own. When it comes to science we also like to remove God as well. Now we even like to remove God from religion.
We remove God from religion by attempting to set up our own means of salvation. Seeking to establish your own righteousness is seeking to be saved by your own works. We all are in danger of this because we are all human. In order to avoid this mistake we must keep our eyes focused on Jesus. No religious acts that we do should give us confidence , but our confidence should rest wholly in Jesus Christ. We must ask for strength to always keep Jesus at the center of our religion and not anything that we can do.

Do you ever find yourself proud about how good you are, especially in contrast to others? Maybe you are "better," but so what? Compare yourself to Christ, and then think about how "good" you really are.

This is a danger that we all fall into. We must realize that to compare ourselves with others pointless. We do not have other humans as our example but we have the perfect spotless Son of God. When we compare ourselves to Jesus then we have no reason to boast.
